The Zimmers (lead singer is 90-year-old Alf Carretta) have recorded a unique version of The Who's My Generation. The 40-strong band, which includes some centenarians, recorded at the legendary studio two at Abbey Road. Alf is old enough to be Pete Townsend's dad, so the sense of generational incongruity is even greater than you expect. Like all aspirational new bands, the Zimmers have a presence on MySpace. The BBC website also has a report on the Zimmers.
